Dear Donor/Member,

As you may have already seen elsewhere on this website, my colleagues project manager Kawsu Sillah and chief financial officer Mamadou Salieu Jallow have written exhaustively on our recently-implemented Ramadan Project in Basse. Many thanks to them and others involved in this reportorial assignment, for keeping track of all the details as and when they unfolded. From the onset, we knew we would be duty-bound to report to our esteemed donors and our general membership. It is a matter of courtesy as well as it is of accountability and transparency.

Ladies and gentlemen, it goes without saying that we should all be proud of ourselves. The Ramadan project is a wonderful success story. The idea was first initiated by some of our fellow Basse natives in New York City. They channeled the idea to the FoB executive who furthered it to the general membership and to the global community. The rest, as they say, is now history.

I send my heartfelt thanks to all my colleagues particularly project manager Kawsu Sillah, public relations officer Abubakarr Krubally and chief financial officer Mamadou Salieu Jallow. With their tremendous hard work, we were able to execute the project as planned. We should all be proud of the collective efforts that went into launching this noble initiative.

To the executive officers, especially those in the Kombo area, thank you for your leadership and for traveling all the way to Basse to attend the final dinner on Lailatul Qadr.

To our sisters, the cooks who made the delicious meals, our elders who took the time to bless the food, and all those who helped us secure good deals to maximize our funds, thank you and may Allah repay you.

Finally, to the donors and the rest of the membership, thank you for your generous donations. You did make a difference. With your help, we were able to provide meals for our brother and sisters, especially the poor and the needy among us. May Allah repay you. Together, we have started a worthy tradition that hopefully will be continued for many years to come.

I am proud to be a part of this team and do hope that we will be able to raise more funds next year to provide more meals than we did this year.

On behalf of the executive team, I would like to thank you for your generosity and do ask for your continuous support. To those who are yet to join us, this is your invite to come on board. I leave you with our motto: "Collectively We Can Make a difference."
