He reported that the balances as follows: Gambia: D72, 211.44 (this include the Ramadan project balance); the U.S. $4,720.94; UK £360 (this amount was exchanged in U.S dollar for $543 to be deposited in the U.S account at a future date.); the balance for the Holland account was not mentioned.

Mr. Jallow mentioned that members in the United Kingdom can now pay their membership dues via PayPal or send their payments to the Gambia, U.S, or Holland. This is because the custodian of the U.K account the association was using has moved to the United States.

Library Project Update:

Mr. MB krubally informed the general membership that at the last executive meeting, members agreed to distribute the computers and books to various schools in Basse. He then solicited their opinions. There were no objections. Mr. Kawsu Sillah though, expressed his concerns about not moving ahead with implementing the library project in Koba Kunda Primary School. However, major felt it was better to distribute the computers and books and put them to good use before they become obsolete.

Fundraising Project:

The meeting participants were asked what they thought about the association inviting Jaliba Kuyateh (a Gambian musician) to Basse for a fundraising event. Everyone responded in support of the idea. The executive team on the ground was charged with working the details and setting up a date for the event.

NOTE: Since the meeting, the association has finalized the negotiation with Mr. Jaliba Kuyateh. An amount has been paid as a deposit for the event and the date for the event has been set.

Open Discussion/Round Table:

Alh. Saibo Drammeh reported that an organization in Germany has given him Ebola related supplies to deliver to "Changali" and Basse Health Center. He will coordinate the delivery of the supplies.

Mr. Mamadou Salieu Jallow aka "Bala" of Sweden informed membership that he has been working with a local school in Sweden that give him used clothing to be donated in the Gambia (Basse). In the past, he donated the clothing to the "Yai Compins" in Basse to distribute. This time he wants to donate the used clothing to Friends of Basse to distribute in Basse. He promised to shoulder the cost of getting the clothes to Basse. The association will be responsible for documenting the distribution. The documentation will be reported back to the school to ensure the continuity of the project.

Mr. Jallow also urges the membership to join Chicambers (an organization in Suduwol). Chicambers is an organization that helps sponsor children in "Suduwol". Every member pays a certain amount a year that is used to support a child. Currently, majority of the members that support this organization are Swedish. He encourages all of us to support this organization since the beneficiaries are our brothers and sisters.
