Paul Blackla, a British philanthropist, recently presented a sum of D38, 480 to Basse Kabakama horticultural garden.

The money donated through A Smile B Project under Wuli and Sandu development Association (WASDA), was meant for the fencing of the horticultural garden. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Lamin Danso, deputising for the Director of WASDA, thanked Paul Blackla for his commitment and participation in nation building. He noted that this will create avenues for women to generate more funds for future investments.
Danso appealed to the women to save the money they get from their proceeds for sustainable economic development. He finally urged them to desist from using their monies for unnecessary programmes.

For his part, Ousuman Kanteh, a senior Agricultural Officer in Upper River Region, also hailed the British philanthropist for the gesture. He described WASDA as partners in national development. He assured them that the Ministry of Agriculture will continue to assist farmers particularly the women.

He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the garden and the money. Lamin Touray and Lamin Jarju, both from WASDA also reaffirmed their resolve to contribute to national development. They implored the people of Kabakama to continue the hard work.
