Introduction:
As agreed at the last general meeting to open and close meetings with a prayer, the meeting began with a prayer led by Alh. Saibo Drammeh.

Yorro opened the meeting by thanking the attendees for taking the time to attend the meeting. He spoke on the need to continue to encourage each other to move the association forward. He also emphasized the importance to open dialogue and advised the group to stay focused. He prayed for the continuous success of Basse Association.

Roof-Top Tiling Project:
Ousainou Krubally updated the group that the mosque tiling project was completed and officially opened. He added that the Basse elders were praying for the continuous success of BA

Given the success of the Roof-Tiling project, Alh. Saibo Drammeh commented on the need to focus on the projects and not engage in too much discussion regarding the matter.

Momodou Krubally commented on the need to not discourage open dialogue. He added that open dialogue was the only guaranteed way that members could be heard by and motivated to participate. He added that a failure to encourage open dialogue might discourage members from joining the association or simply from expressing their opinion.

Wuyeh Sanyang cautioned against discouraging open dialogue. He advised that we all watch what we say and how we say it, as we all look at things from different angles. Wuyeh added that we must not take public discussions or debates personally. He closed by stating that criticism is good and necessary in a group setting.

Ablution Center:

It was revealed that Alh. Sellou had sent out an email showing a break-down of the financial costs of the ablution center project. Members agreed to move on to the next agenda as everyone had received the mail.

Basse Health Center:

Per the email sent by Dawda Sankareh, the items for the Basse health center were in the process of being bought. The funds had been sent. Ousainou Krubally commented that some of the items had to be ordered out of town.

Momodou Krubally requested that the list of items being purchased be sent again to the (executive mailing) list.

Memorial Cup:

Per Alh. Sellou’s email, the GFA and Basse Sports Committee had decided on the suspended finals between Manju FC and T-Junction FC. Only one half of the game will be played. All cards issued during the previous game will stand and the game will be played on July 16, 2011.

Future Undertaking: BA Tree Planting in Basse

It was conveyed that our project manager on the ground Mr. Dawda Sankareh had expressed some reservations about the green project initiative. Ousainou Krubally added that Dawda commented that the Forestry Department does conduct such a program annually. He said that Dawda had suggested that we work along the Forestry Department's annual initiative and start with the mini stadium. Dawda and his team will reach out to the BA executive when they need our help.

Library Project:

Inquiries were made and confirmation received that the books originally planned to be shipped to The Gambia were still in the possession of Pa Samba Johm. He hopes to send them in the near future. It was agreed that the library will be located at the Koba Kunda primary school to serve the entire Basse community. It is with the understanding that Koba Kunda primary school will oversee the day to day running of the library, say, the hours of operation, but the library will be open to the Basse community.

Registering BA in The Gambia.

Alh. Sello is working with the team on the ground to register BA in The Gambia. He will reach out to Ms. Maimuna Sey to see if she was interested in serving as the Vice President of the association. It was also suggested that Mr. Lie Cham be approached to see if he was willing to become a member and an official on the ground. Alh. Sellou will also try to reach Solomon Lussack to see if he might be interested in joining.

Pa Joof had already designed a new logo for the BA and he will send this information to Alh. Sellou. Also, the names chosen for the registration were: My Basse Association. Regarding the registration fee, Alh. Sellou will facilitate the disbursement of funds as and when needed.

Financial Statements:
