Subject | Ramadan Project Update |
Halfway toward our D100000 "Ramadan Project" goal, I like to thank all the donors and the coordinators of this project. We are still collecting donations through Sunday June 9th. With five days to go, I am confident that we will make it if we all chip in a little bit. Please consider donating. Only D50000 to go, we can do it.
We know that many of you intend to donate but are also too busy to make it to the bank. Kindly make time to swing by your nearest Bank of America today. It is a two minute transaction and you will be glad you did. Our people especially the poor will appreciate the help during the holly month of Ramadan.
To make it easier, we can collect your donations back home if that is easier for you. We do have representatives on the ground that can coordinate with you to pick up your donations. Also, you can donate anonymously if you wish.
As stated earlier none of the funds received for this project is going to BA coffers. The collected donations will be spent on the Ramadan project and we will make available the expense report showing how the funds were spent.
Also, let it be known that this project includes the surrounding villages. We have members as far away as Bakadaji and Wulli that have donated. So everyone in the Basse area and friends of Basse are encouraged to donate.
To effectively coordinate this project, we will be holding a meeting this Sunday, June 9th to discuss the project. Please look out for the announcement and make time to join us. Per our motto, “Collectively we can make a difference”. Basseans, join us make a difference.

Subject | Ramadan Project |
Dear All,
About a week ago, some of our members came up with a great suggestion. They suggested sponsoring some sort of Ramadan “Iftar” know as “Huntari” in Fulani for the Basse community. The idea was forwarded to the executive and it was adopted at our meeting today, and hereby called “Ramadan Project”.
FoB is here by inviting everyone on this list, citizens and friends of Basse to join hands and make this project a success.
We have agreed to start collecting donations and hold a meeting on Sunday, June 9, 2013 to further discuss what type of help we can best render to the community. We already have a lot of suggestions ranging from distributing sugar to simply providing “Iftar” a few days during the Ramadan. Some have even suggested sponsoring this year’s “Lailatul Kadhir”. At the end, the amount of money collected will determine what we can do. This is why we are asking for everyone to consider donating something.
We have agreed to the following amounts according to regions. We encourage those of you that can donate more to do so and those that can’t afford the suggested amount to donate any amount they can afford. No amount is small.
Ladies and gentlemen, we all know how hard things are back home and there are families that have trouble feeding their loved ones especially during the holy month of Ramadan. We ask you to consider donating something to help our community, especially the needy families.
Suggested donation amounts are as follows:
United States (US) residence - $50
European Union (EU) residence - €40
United Kingdom (UK) residence - £30
Africa/Gambia residence - D100
Those interested in donating can either give it to someone that can forward it to FoB or simply deposit it in FoB Bank of America account. Kindly contact any of the executive members to forward you the account number.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to hearing from all of you. Remember, "Collectively, we can make a difference".
